I did take my time on the removal process (took about 2.5 hours or so), but that was simply because I was selling the system to someone else, and wanted to ensure everything was still in order for him. Just an overview of the process, hopefully it's helpful. Then just button everything back up, and presto! You'll need to poke your nose around to find, but if you wiggle the control module around, it'll give you an idea where it's still bolted in. The last one is a bit trickier to locate - on the very "top left" of the control module, which suspends it on another bracket. of these are very visible, just above & below the previous bolt that was loosened. Next is smaller (7mm) bolts which connect the control module to its bracket. There's larger bolt that holds a ground wire which needs to be removed first. I removed some plastic pieces underneath the steering wheel for improved access, and you'll need to remove a few bolts to drop down the control module. You'll see the wiring goes from the engine bay through the firewall, reaching somewhat near where your left foot would rest while driving. NOTE: Everything I've described is mirror equivalent on the driver/passenger side. I ended up snipping the wires that go to the LED ambient lighting (the ones that light each step - 2 per step). You'll want to be sure to disconnect the electrical connector to avoid any damage, when setting the step on the ground after unbolting. Once the bolts are loosened/removed, the step and motor assembly will drop together. On my truck there was only 2 bolts on the front and another 2 identical bolts on the rear, holding the step on.
